I took a photography class in high school, it was one of those awesome electives that you could kind of skate by on. What I didn't realize, was how much I really loved taking pictures. This section is more of a gallery than a blog. I'm not the best with words, but think expressions and stories are told with pictures. Life truly does become art, and what better place to express this art, than in one of the most beautiful islands in the world, Maui. She has my heart.
This pic was taken at the magnificent Bamboo Forest, along the infamous Road to Hana. This place brings nostalgia with every visit. This was one of the first places I had the pleasure of hiking on Maui. The bamboo is unreal, it makes music when you hike through and is one of the most sustainable products around.
Ahhh, another incredible spot for hiking here on Maui, the iconic Iao Valley. The energy in this valley is almost palpable. Iao is said to be sacred, for in 1790, a legendary battle took place, known as the Kepaniwai Battle. The Iao needle is one of Maui's most recognizable landmarks and is an ideal attraction for easy hiking and sightseeing. It is truly beautiful.
Hana is one of those places that slows you down and grounds you back to earth. So lush and vibrant, with jaw-dropping coastline. I always feel a little lighter and recharged after a Hana visit.
The “crater” as we call it here on Maui, is surreal. Haleakala Crater sits at just over 10,000ft on our little island. Walking through the crater feels like being on another planet. It‘s pretty amazing to watch the sunrise from atop Haleakala, or just spend the day hiking through.
Just a walk in the clouds ☁️
